KNJ has the ability to collect ESI from a number of sources —both live and archived—such as networks, servers, personal computers, backup tapes, removable digital devices, mobile phones, hosted data repositories, email and cloud-based email, and social networking sites. Our EnCE® certified technicians are equipped with the tools and in-depth knowledge to ensure a pristine and forensically sound deliverable with comprehensive chain of custody documentation.
THE BEST WAY TO PREDICT YOUR FUTURE IS TO INVENT IT.
Dependent upon the specific case requirements, KNJ can perform complete hard drive imaging services or dive deeper into more targeted collections.
EARLY CASE ASSESSMENT (ECA)
Utilizing state-of-the art technologies and industry best practices for data reduction and risk assessment,
KNJ’s ECA methodology streamlines the processing and analysis stages of the eDiscovery workflow. Various filtering techniques may be applied to efficiently cull down large volumes of ESI, such as search term, date range, and file type filtering, plus duplicative data removal. Project managers collaborate with technical personnel and programmers to create a case-specific data reduction solution for each client matter. KNJ’s data reduction protocols are auditable and defensible, and ensure that processing costs are kept at a minimum.
ECA is the most important phase of KNJ’s eDiscovery workflow. The primary benefit of ECA is the ability to quickly cull, review, and analyze large document populations to assess the evidentiary value of the case data. Advanced analytics utilized during ECA allow users to gain a window into case themes, relevant custodians, key time frames, and critical communication patterns within a dataset before incurring processing and review costs.
KNJ offers several data processing solutions for converting ESI into a suitable format for review and analysis.
While smaller projects benefit from lean, budget-conscious software offerings, large-scale projects are easily managed using a distributive process across an expansive virtual farm of internal servers and worker machines.
Upon ingestion into our processing tools, we are able to deduplicate, de-NIST (remove operating system files, program files and other non-user created data), and apply filters (such as date ranges and key terms) to reduce the dataset. In addition, we have the ability to utilize a suite of advanced tools to facilitate a more comprehensive document review. These tools consist of a near-duplicate similarity viewer, an email thread analyzer, a relationship analyzer, and a concept analyzer
DATA HOSTING FOR REVIEW
KNJ houses a collection of powerful, internally-hosted eDiscovery review platforms. Included in these are Viewpoint, Concordance FYI, and Clearwell.
KNJ is a Viewpoint Premium Gold Certified provider that can facilitate an on-demand review solution hosted on secure, government-grade servers. The tool features built-in technology-assisted review applications that help to reduce the time and cost required to analyze a large set of documents. Because Viewpoint is also utilized to process ESI, the review database can be quickly set up within the tool, expediting the process and enabling a faster turnaround to kick off the review.
From TIFF conversions, to electronic endorsements, to trial exhibit preparation, KNJ can assist with both electronic and paper discovery production requests.
